Product overview
WEST SYSTEM 105/206A is a two-component epoxy system widely used in marine and composite applications. The 105 resin is a clear, light-yellow, low-viscosity epoxy suitable for impregnating wood fibers, fiberglass and other reinforcements. Hardener 206 is a slow-curing, low-viscosity curing agent that produces a rigid, high-strength, moisture-resistant solid with excellent bonding and coating performance; it offers extended open time for complex layups and repairs.

Usage, dosing and mixing

• Pot life at 25°C: 20–30 minutes.
• Initial cure to handling strength at 21°C: 9–12 hours.
• Cure to full mechanical strength at 21°C: 5–7 days.
• Minimum recommended working temperature: 16°C.
• Dosing: use matching mini-pumps for accurate proportions (one resin pump stroke = one hardener pump stroke with Model A pumps).
• Mixing: stir thoroughly for at least two minutes (longer at low temperatures), scraping pot sides and bottom during mixing.
• Note: Hardener 206 is not recommended for clear transparent coating applications.

Consumption

• 1 kg mixed (porous surface @25°C): approx. 6.5–7.5 m².
• 1 kg mixed (non-porous surface @25°C): approx. 8.5–9.5 m².
