The Wood Rot Repair Kit WEST SYSTEM® is a two-component, low-viscosity epoxy designed to penetrate and consolidate wood degraded by moisture, aging or water ingress. Its solvent-free formulation enables deep fiber saturation to stabilize weakened areas and prepare the substrate for rebuilding or finishing. Suitable for joinery, exterior woodwork and marine repairs.

Kit contents by packaging
360 ml kit — 240 ml resin, 120 ml hardener, 2 mixing bottles, 2 pairs of gloves, detailed instructions.
1.5 L kit — 1 L resin, 0.5 L hardener, 2 mixing bottles, 1 mixing cup, 2 pairs of gloves, 2 mixing sticks, 1 layup brush, detailed instructions.
6 L kit — 4 L resin, 2 L hardener, 1 layup brush, 1 mixing cup, 2 pairs of gloves, 1 mixing stick, detailed instructions.

How to use

• Remove friable material and clean the substrate thoroughly.
• Measure and prepare the resin/hardener mix at the 2:1 ratio.
• Apply the low-viscosity epoxy to saturate decayed fibers and stabilize the area.
• For large voids or rebuilds, thicken the epoxy with WEST SYSTEM fillers to obtain a paste suitable for fairing and filling.

Repair and finishing

• Once cured, the epoxy can be sanded, shaped and faired to restore the original profile.
• The substrate can then receive paint, varnish or any finish compatible with epoxy systems.
• For exterior applications, apply UV protection over the cured epoxy.
