Product overview
SIRENA ABR is a self-polishing antifouling based on copper oxide and synthetic copolymers. Formulated for controlled release of active salts, it provides effective protection for recreational and commercial hulls. Typical dry film thickness 120 µm delivers an effective duration of approximately 12–16 months. Suitable for steel, fibreglass (gelcoat) and wooden hulls; recommended for speeds up to 20–25 knots.

Usage / Surface preparation and application system

• Bare steel: sandblast or wire-brush thoroughly and degrease. Apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9. After drying apply 2 further coats of EPOFOND AM-9, then 1 coat of SOLVER PRIMER. Finish with 2–3 coats of SIRENA ABR, allowing recommended drying times between coats.
• Bare wood: apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO, then 2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER. Finish with 2–3 coats of SIRENA ABR, allowing recommended drying times between coats.
• Fibreglass (gelcoat): apply 1 coat of UNIFIBER PRIMER over gelcoat, then 2–3 coats of SIRENA ABR, allowing recommended drying times between coats.
• Painted hulls: clean thoroughly, remove fouling, rinse with fresh water and wet-sand. If previous antifouling is of unknown type apply 1 intermediate coat of SOLVER PRIMER, then 2 coats of SIRENA ABR, respecting drying intervals.

Recommendations
After the final coat, the maximum allowed period before launching is 1 month. With top-quality copper-based antifouling and if the hull is protected from moisture and rain (e.g. with plastic sheeting), launching time may be extended up to 3 months.

Colour
Colour may vary slightly after immersion and between production lots. If necessary, mix different cans before application to ensure uniform tint.

Remarks
Values in this technical data are indicative and may vary slightly between batches. Do not expose the freshly applied product to water, chemicals or mechanical stress before full cure. Wet film thickness refers to undiluted product; dilution increases wet film thickness. Information is based on laboratory tests and practical experience; no implicit warranty is given due to external usage conditions.
