Product description
One-component primer for direct application onto metals such as brass, bronze, aluminium and steel. Suitable for overcoating with one- or two-component paints and, specifically for boat propellers, with CONTENDER ELICHE antifouling. Provides reliable adhesion to the substrate and to subsequent coats.

Usage
SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION PROCEDURE — METAL (BOAT PROPELLERS): Degrease the surface with a suitable solvent (nitro, epoxy or polyurethane based). Sandblast if possible or alternatively sand with coarse-grain sandpaper (80–100 grit) to obtain a suitable anchor pattern. Do not use worn abrasive paper or wire brushes as they can polish the substrate and reduce primer anchorage. Remove dust with dry compressed air or a dry vacuum. Avoid touching the prepared surface to prevent grease or dirt contamination. Apply a first coat of ELIPRIMER 1C respecting the recommended waiting time between coats. Wait a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 12 hours (at 20°C) before applying the first coat of CONTENDER ELICHE antifouling. Apply the second coat of CONTENDER ELICHE within 4 hours after the previous antifouling coat. Launch into water after a minimum of 24 hours.
