Description
Hard-matrix white antifouling paint containing copper thiocyanate. Formulated for application on steel, wood, fibreglass (GRP), aluminium and previously coated hulls. Suitable for high-speed vessels, including operation above 30 knots. Copper salt in the formulation minimizes galvanic interactions.

Usage - Surface preparation and application procedure

• Bare steel hulls: Sandblast to SA 2.5, apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 and allow to dry 12-24 hours. If sandblasting is not possible, mechanically prepare to bare steel, clean and apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO; dry 8-12 hours. Apply 2–3 coats of SOLVER PRIMER allowing 24 hours between coats. Overcoat with 2 coats of CONTENDER STC White antifouling allowing minimum 8–12 hours between coats.
• Bare wood hulls: Apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and dry 8-12 hours. Apply 2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER with 24 hours between coats. Finish with 2 coats of CONTENDER STC White antifouling allowing minimum 8 hours between coats.
• Fibreglass (GRP): Degrease with detergent and water, rinse, sand lightly with fine abrasive and remove dust. Apply 1 coat of POLIFIBER PRIMER. After 24 hours sand lightly and apply 2 coats of CONTENDER STC White antifouling allowing minimum 8 hours between coats.
• Aluminium and light alloys: Degrease thoroughly with Thinner 765. Apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 and allow 8 hours drying (do not exceed 24 hours). Apply 3 coats of SOLVER PRIMER with 24 hours between coats. Overcoat with 2 coats of CONTENDER STC White antifouling allowing minimum 12 hours between coats.
• Previously painted hulls: If the existing antifouling is sound, compatible and well adhered, apply 1–2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER followed by 2 coats of CONTENDER STC White antifouling allowing the recommended interval between coats. If the old antifouling is unsound, remove to bare substrate and follow the appropriate new-hull procedure above.

Recommendations
The maximum launching time after application of the last coat is 1 month. With top-quality copper-based antifouling and if the hull is protected from moisture, rain or weather (for example with plastic sheeting), this period may extend up to 3 months. Slight colour variation after immersion and small differences between production batches can occur; mix cans if necessary.
