Product description
Serenissima is a copper-based, hydrophilic self-polishing antifouling paint formulated for boats up to 30 knots. A high content of copper oxide and targeted additives combined with a hydrophilic binder provide controlled release of antifouling salts and effective protection in varied conditions, including warm and mixed waters. Not suitable for aluminium hulls. Minimum recommended application: 2 coats.

Usage - Surface preparation and application procedure

• Bare Steel bottom. Sandblast to SA 2.5/3, apply 1 coat of EPOFOND AM-9 and dry 12–24 h. If sandblasting is not possible, perform mechanical cleaning to bare steel, apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and dry 8–12 h. Then apply 3 coats of SOLVER PRIMER (24 h between coats). Overcoat with 2–3 coats of SERENISSIMA antifouling allowing minimum 8 h between coats.
• Bare Wood bottom. Apply 1 coat of EVIOX CROMOMINIO and dry 8–12 h. Apply 2 coats of SOLVER PRIMER (24 h between coats) then 2–3 coats of SERENISSIMA antifouling allowing minimum 8 h between coats.
• Fibreglass bottom. Degrease with detergent and water, rinse, lightly sand with fine abrasive and remove dust. Apply 1 coat of POLIFIBER PRIMER, wait 24 h and sand lightly. Apply 2–3 coats of SERENISSIMA allowing minimum 8 h between coats.
• Previously Coated Boat Bottom. If old antifouling is sound and compatible, sand lightly and apply 2 coats of SERENISSIMA. If unknown, perform a patch test; if compatible, sand and apply 2 coats. If blisters appear, apply 1 coat of SOLVER PRIMER to isolate old paint, then 2–3 coats of SERENISSIMA. Complete removal of old antifouling is recommended every 3–4 years.
• Note on brush application. Apply by longitudinal strokes relative to the waterline. Wait at least 8 h before the second coat. A third coat is recommended on the waterline and rudder.

Recommendations
After the final coat the maximum launching period is 1 month. With high-quality copper-based antifouling and protection from moisture or weather (e.g. plastic cover) the launching time can extend up to 3 months. Slight color variations between production lots can occur; mix cans if necessary before application.

Safety precautions and remarks
Read the safety instructions on the can label and the product safety data sheet. Do not expose the applied product to water, chemicals or mechanical stress before full curing. Wet film thickness refers to the undiluted product; dilution increases the wet film thickness. Dilution rates and drying times refer to 20°C and may vary with temperature, humidity and application method.
