Short description
BO10/15 are circular lightweight floating barriers designed for containment of hydrocarbon pollution in canals, streams and confined waterways. Constructed from PVC-coated polyester fabric with Stratocel® closed-cell polyethylene cylindrical floats enclosed by heat-sealed seams, they provide reliable buoyancy and reserve buoyancy. A ballasted appendage maintains stability and ensures containment continuity up to 15 cm elevation. Modules are supplied in standard 10 m segments or to customer specifications.

Construction and materials
The barrier fabric is polyester coated on both sides with PVC. Buoyancy is provided by Stratocel® cylindrical foam floats inserted inside the fabric. Modules are joined by AISI 316 steel plates and secured with screws and wing nuts. Ballast is provided by galvanized chain; chains of individual modules can be spliced to increase overall strength.

Maintenance
Simple construction and durable materials limit maintenance needs. A thorough cleaning after each deployment is essential before storage. Minor repairs may be required in case of tears or damage due to adverse weather or hydraulic conditions.

Applications
Designed for fixed or semi-fixed installations such as river and canal barriers where currents preclude vertical booms. Standard color is orange; other colors available on request.
