OverviewS/Y MARE NOSTRUM is a 45 m ketch launched in 2007. Conceived for long-range ocean cruising, she pairs a robust structural concept with generous internal volume and a sail plan designed for powerful yet controllable performance. Successive refit cycles have updated systems and interior arrangements while preserving the original naval logic.
Designer & HistoryDesigned by RON HOLLAND and delivered in 2007 under the name Helios, MARE NOSTRUM (formerly Blush / Helios) belongs to the PERINI NAVI generation of performance cruising sailing yachts. The yacht's build and naval architecture are credited to PERINI NAVI.
Design IdentityWith a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, MARE NOSTRUM balances structural strength and weight distribution. The broad beam and optimized underwater lines increase interior volume without degrading seakeeping. The sail plan is centred on a 52.10-m mast and exceeds 1,150 m² of sail area, offering strong, manageable drive under varied conditions.
Layout & FlexibilityThe interior is arranged for flexibility: multiple cabin configurations adapt to different cruising profiles. The owner’s suite can be divided into two separate cabins via a mahogany partition. Guest cabins include convertible arrangements to optimise privacy and capacity. The main saloon is composed of three zones — bar, lounge and dining — to support both social activity and extended stays aboard.
