Overview The Perini Navi S/Y MALTESE FALCON is an 88 m sailing yacht delivered in 2006, distinguished by the Falcon Rig system, advanced engineering and a pioneering approach to sailing performance. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure and displacing over 1,200 tonnes, she redefined the concept of the sailing superyacht. At her heart lies the Falcon Rig: three free-standing carbon masts, each 58 m above DWL, with integrated furling spars and automated sails enabling exceptional performance.
The Icon Reborn Launched in 2006 for the entrepreneur Thomas J. Perkins, S/Y MALTESE FALCON is among the most recognisable sailing yachts. Measuring 88 m overall with a 12.60 m beam, she combines scale and avant-garde design. The Falcon Rig comprises 15 square sails furling within the spars with a total sail area of approximately 2,400 m², allowing speeds in excess of 20 knots with high levels of automation and safety.
Design Identity Theatrum maris: interiors pair theatrical volume with refined intimacy across some 432 m² of guest accommodation. Vast saloons (nearly 300 m²) receive abundant natural light through sweeping windows, while a 339 m² cockpit provides extensive al fresco spaces. Crew areas exceed 290 m², conceived as a seaborne theatre integrating art, technology and operational efficiency.
Interior Design Oceanic theatre: interiors by Ken Freivokh Studio feature a sweeping central saloon crowned by a sculptural polished-steel bar, intimate lounges, symmetrical staircases and a detailed dining area opening onto the main saloon. Materials include polished metals, dark woods and soft upholstery with calibrated lighting to enhance surfaces and create dramatic effects.
