Description

Overview
Perini Navi S/Y Badis is a 70 m ketch launched in 2016 and refitted in 2018. Combining a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, Badis pairs contemporary exterior lines with refined, gallery-like interiors by PH Design. The yacht is engineered for long-range passages while retaining shallow-water access via a variable-depth centreboard keel.

Design Identity
Naval architecture by Philippe Briand integrates a variable-depth centreboard keel to optimise performance across draft profiles. The Rondal carbon rig with two carbon masts and Perini electric winches provides powerful sail control and simplified handling. Interior finishes include titanium accents, ash wood millwork and bespoke lighting schemes.

Signature Advances
  • Variable-depth centreboard keel for combined performance and access
  • Rondal carbon rig with Perini electric sail handling systems
  • Two high-aspect carbon masts (Rondal)
  • 18 m flush flybridge, among the largest on contemporary sailing yachts
  • Contemporary interior programme featuring titanium detailing and custom lighting

Main narrative / History
Originally launched as Sybaris in 2016 and re-named Badis, the yacht represents a landmark in Perini Navi’s sailing portfolio. A comprehensive refit in 2018 updated systems and finishes to modern standards while preserving the yacht’s original design intent.
