E3 (E-cubed) is a propeller that features innovative technical solutions in its shell, which are combined with the use of materials and treatments so far only applied in advanced technology fields. These innovations guarantee an absolutely superior resistance to mechanical shocks and galvanic corrosion, by no means comparable to the performances of common feathering, folding or solid blade propellers.
Thorough studies and tests have been carried out over several years for the development of the project, allowing to obtain an extremely reliable product in a particularly slim body.
All this guarantees a long endurance propeller with a wide range of applications, making E3 suitable for all race and cruise sailing boats.
The adopted solutions are in line with the latest sailing trends, always oriented towards innovative materials and technologies capable of exalting modern boats' performances.
The feathering 3 blades propeller E3 (E-cubed) is available either for shaft-drive and S-Drive.
E3 is built completely with high-strength and high corrosion resistance stainless steels and has a micrometric pitch-setting device allowing to set the most appropriate pitch from the outside.
E3 doesn't require disassemblage of its parts in order to be installed or removed and doesn't require any hub puller, therefore it can be installed in few minutes easily even underwater.

Varifold Propellers have taken the market by storm. Regularly fitted by such notable yacht building names as Baltic, Swan, Wally, Moody and Oyster, the complete range of Varifolds has a model for cruiser racing and racing yachts of every size. Varifold is revolutionary in design and brings a revolution to the yachts they are fitted to. Radical reductions in noise and vibration and excellent performance under engine, both ahead and astern, are the result of the propellers unique design. Varifolds have proper helical pitch distribution, including pitch reduction towards the blade tip. This pitch reduction 'unloads' the blade tips and, combined with the skewed blades, greatly reduces noisy pressure pulses against a yachts hull. While some other folding propellers have a helical pitch shape, few have proper sections or pitch distribution. None, put all these requirements into a complete package, except Varifold.
- Diameter 432mm to 813mm or 16" to 32"
- For engines rated to 350HP
- Available for shafts & saildrives
- Latest blade design incorporates high skew and cambered blades for smooth operation
- Pitch reduction at the tip to reduce pressure pulses on the hull

Autoprop is unique! This remarkable propeller can be found on thousands of sailing yachts the world over! Fitted to all the BT Challenge yachts, and tested in the most arduous conditions, Autoprops benefits for cruising yachts are unmatched by any other product. Considerably reduced drag can be expected from most feathering propellers but unlike ' the others' Autoprops exclusive design enables her shaped blades to automatically find the optimum pitch when motoring or motor sailing, ensuring excellent performance both ahead and astern, with virtually no 'prop walk'.
Faster motoring speeds for the same revs; better economy using lower revs at a yachts normal cruising speed; as much as one knot increase in sailing speed and a huge advantage when motor sailing, unachievable by any other feathering propeller: -
Autoprop automatically adopts the most efficient pitch setting, taking into account the driving force of the sails. The result is increased speed at lower revs, giving longer range and more comfortable cruising.
Too good to be true? There is lots more to be discovered on this web site about this great propeller range, which offers two and three blade versions plus one suitable for sail drives, and Autoprop sizes will accomodate any engine up to 350hp. An innovative new propeller for sailing yachts ...
The Kiwiprop™ is a unique cost effective feathering propeller that eliminates gears, aligns the blades with the streamlines not the shaft, minimises corrosion potential from the lightweight composite blades and offers users easy variable pitch adjustment. In the Kiwiprop™ the individual blades are always free to "weather vane" in the actual water flow, to a minimum drag position so don't cause autorotation.
This modern light weight three bladed feathering propeller has proved much smoother and quieter in operation than equivalent two bladed units and offers the additional benefits of variable pitch, fully lubricated, minimal corrosion potential and the full reverse thrust.

"Overdrive" function
The 3-blade Gori folding propeller's "overdrive" function adds a new dimension to sailing under power. The helmsman can choose the propeller pitch and profile in the water while sailing forward, by regulating the yacht's shift and throttle control. Without the use of vulnerable hydraulics or complicated mechanical devices.
The "overdrive" is used when motorsailing in fair weather or when using the engine under sail. The "overdrive" gives the same speed at lower rpms. The result is less engine noise, less vibration and better fuel economy.
The function is simple. E.g. when changing from "overdrive" to normal ahead the shift and throttle control is set in neutral, which allows the propeller to fold. Then the shift and throttle control is set in forward again.
The propeller in itself adds a new dimension to sailing under power. Qualities that are unique to the 3-blade Gori folding propeller.

The Type FR is a fixed adjustable propeller, and is the best choice when you do not know which propeller is the best for your boat, when a suitable fixed propeller is hard to find, or when there are special requirements to the propeller.
The Type FR propeller is easily adjusted to optimum pitch using two wrenches. Adjusting the propeller to optimum pitch ensures a correct load on the motor, while also providing maximum power and fuel efficiency. In addition, the cost of a Type FR propeller is low compared to buying several fixed propellers in order to find the best one for your application. The Type FR propeller has approximately the same efficiency as a fixed propeller, in some cases even exceeding the fixed propeller's efficiency. When adjusted, it is used in the same way as a fixed propeller.
Fixed adjustable propellers are used for all types of boats, and usually have three or four blades. West Mekan calculates and produces these propellers in diameters of up to 1500mm, for speeds up to approximately 40 knots.
Fixed adjustable propellers with more or fewer blades can be specially designed.

The 3-blade Gori folding propeller marks a technological and functional leap forward in the development of propellers for sailboats. It is now possible for sailboats and motorsailers to gain the folding propeller's speed advantages under sail, combined with the fixed propeller's thrust capability when motoring.
The 3-blade Gori folding propeller was introduced on the market in 1994 and won the DAME award and HISWA award the same year, as the best new marine product.

By now everybody knows about the function of the folding blades propeller for sailing hulls is:
TO REDUCING THE PROPELLER DRAG DURING SAILING
(propeller drag is reduced about 90% compared to the traditional two fixed blades propeller).
The opening operation is automatic and is caused by the centrifugal force, increasing according to the engine revolution. In forward gear the pressure on the blades allows a performance equal to the fixed-blades propeller.
During this opening phase a quick acceleration of the engine is not advisable, and we recommend to make it
smoothly and gradually.
Even at low revolutions the centrifugal force is enough to opening the blades.
When the engine is off, a forward speed of 1 to 2 knots generates sufficient water pressure for the blades to close.
Reverse gear has always been the main problem for folding blades propellers.
Mainly due to the water pressure acting in opposition to the blades opening and the lack of a support point for the blades on the hub, only partially open, and the blades float, causing an unstable and insecure condition when maneuvering.
In order to avoid this inconvenience we studied and tested special blade sections that allow the blades to remain fully open during reverse operation with positive maneuvering results.

A propeller is possibly the most essential component of a motorboat and very important for sailing boats too. It requires a lot of attention, both by the naval architect and by the propeller manufacturer. "Specialists", who are able to tell you "off the cuff" what type of propeller your boat requires, simply do not exist. VETUS makes good use of an especially developed computer programme, which ensures the determination of the exactly right propeller for your boat with the aid of some (correct) information, which we require from you.
What are the most important demands made upon a propeller?
Balance
If you bear in mind that a propeller is often rotating at 2.000 r.p.m. (which is more than 30 revolutions per second!), you will appreciate that a good propeller should be well-balanced. A difficult and time-consuming job. but an absolute "must" nonetheless.
