OverviewStudless Chain is a buoy and mooring chain designed for marine applications, offering flexibility and durability compared to studded chains. It is used for navigational aid buoys, mooring systems and heavy-duty marine engineering applications.
Composition- Studless link
- Enlarge link
- End link
Surface & Finishes- Black bituminous painting
- Hot dip galvanised (HDG)
- No painting (raw)
Accessories- Kenter shackle
- Anchor shackle (End shackle, D shackle)
- Swivel
- G-2130 shackle
- Omega shackle
- Other related mooring/anchoring fittings
ApplicationThe studless link chain (buoy chain) is widely used for navigational aid buoys and mooring assemblies. It can be supplied as whole cable, half cable, short cable and v-cable (bridle). Typical assembly practice: the v-cable length is selected per buoy specifications and tied to the lower lifting ring of the buoy; whole cable ≈ 27.5 m (one end with sinker stone, other end attached to v-cable/half/short cable); half cable ≈ 13.7 m (connects short cable to whole cable); short cable ≈ 4.5 m (connects v-cable to half/whole chain); whole, half and short cable sections are connected using a swivel.
