Short description
Routine inspection and maintenance service for inflatable lifejackets compliant with ISO 12402-3. Veleria San Giorgio performs standard revision including inspection, seal replacement and functional tests. Device life is 10 years from production; recommended service interval is 24 months.

General information
Inflatable lifejackets are PPE Cat. 3 (life-saving). Their service life depends on material degradation and conditions of use. Production date and serial number are stamped on the product label. After 10 years the device must be withdrawn from service or evaluated annually by Veleria San Giorgio.

Standard revision includes

• Replacement of water-soluble tablet
• General inspection of the lifejacket
• Replacement of all seals
• Functional check of the activator
• Leak test of the buoyancy chamber

Operational procedure

• 1. Purchase the revision online
• 2. Request pick-up or ship the lifejacket to Veleria San Giorgio
• 3. Veleria San Giorgio performs inspection and maintenance
• 4. The serviced lifejacket is returned to the customer

Notes on activator maintenance
HAMMAR activators require full replacement every 5 years and after any activation. If components must be replaced after inspection, only spare part costs are charged.

Stability and behaviour in water
Single-compartment buoyancy chamber in PA 420 PU coated fabric with high-frequency welded seams. Designed to roll an unconscious person and maintain clear airways while allowing swimming to safety or boarding rescue craft.

Types of activation

• Automatic activation: Inflates automatically on immersion (UML MK5 dissolving tablet or Hammar MA1 hydrostatic activator at minimum immersion depth).
• Manual activation: Activated by pulling the lever (UML MICROMANUAL manual activator).
