The Straatman Quick Release Ball Joint enables safe, rapid and controlled disconnection of dredging pipelines. It is engineered for offshore and nearshore dredging where quick separation under load or pressure is required to protect personnel and equipment.

Designed specifically for dredging systems, the quick release ball joint (pinch ball joint) provides a reliable coupling that can be released quickly without compromising pipeline integrity or vessel operations.
Typical applications
Operation & usage
The female part is mounted to the dredger or pontoon and the male part to the floating pipeline or hose. Release is performed via a retaining ring that couples the male and female parts. Operation can be hydraulic for larger sizes to ensure controlled separation; smaller sizes allow manual operation.
Construction
The assembly consists of three principal components: female part, male part and a two-piece hinged retaining ring integrated into the female housing. This design ensures secure coupling while permitting quick release when required.
