Overview
The Straatman Berthing Aid System (BAS) is a shore-based docking aid that provides real-time distance, position and speed information to support safe vessel berthing at jetties and terminals. Each system is configured to match terminal layout and operational procedures.

How it works
Laser sensors continuously measure the distance between the vessel hull and the jetty. Measurements are processed in real time and presented to operators at the jetty and in the control room. Data can be shown on large LED displays installed on the jetty and on operator workstations. Straatman coordinates LED supply through an affiliated company to ensure visibility in all conditions.

Operational support and integration
The BAS integrates with terminal systems to support daily mooring operations. Optional features include wireless tablet links, pager communication and PC- or PLC-based display integration. Components are combined into an integrated solution adaptable to different terminal layouts and environmental conditions.
