Description

Overview
Engineered for controlled mooring and safe emergency disconnection in offshore LNG and oil & gas operations, these quick release offshore hooks are designed for FSRU side-by-side mooring and FPSO tandem mooring and offloading. They include integrated release options, load monitoring capability and certification options for hazardous zones.

FSRU operations
  • Side-by-side mooring of LNG carriers and terminals
  • Continuous operation during loading and regasification
  • Safe release under load for emergency scenarios

Optional integrations
  • Remote release systems interfaced with control room
  • Hydraulic or electro-hydraulic actuation
  • Real-time mooring load monitoring with alarm outputs

FPSO operations
Designed for tandem mooring and offloading where shuttle tankers connect astern. Configurable as fixed single hooks or as project-specific arrangements to suit deck geometry.
  • Controlled tandem mooring in dynamic offshore conditions
  • Safe disconnection during offloading or emergency release
  • Stable line handling under varying loads

Safe Working Load & Custom Design
Standard Safe Working Load (SWL): 250–300 tons. Higher capacities and bespoke mechanical designs available on request to meet project mooring specifications.

Integrated Mooring Load Monitoring System
This option provides:
  • Real-time mooring load data
  • Visual and audible alarms when thresholds are exceeded
  • Monitoring panels for local cabinets or control rooms

Designed for Hazardous Offshore Environments
Components and systems can be supplied to meet hazardous area requirements common in LNG and oil & gas applications.
  • ATEX and IECEx compliant components available
  • Suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 installations
  • Designed for harsh offshore conditions and marine corrosion protection

Applications
  • Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRU)
  • Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO)
  • LNG terminals and offshore transfer systems
  • Tandem and side-by-side mooring configurations

Key Features
  • Designed specifically for FSRU side-by-side and FPSO tandem mooring
  • Safe release under full load conditions
  • Remote, manual or hydraulic release options
  • ATEX / IECEx certification options for hazardous areas
  • High load capacity (250–300 t standard; higher on request)
  • Engineered for offshore durability and maintainability

Technical specifications
  • Type: Quick release offshore hook for FPSO and FSRU
  • Safe Working Load (SWL): 250–300 t (higher capacities on request)
  • Mounting: welded or bolted deck mounting; custom foundations or brackets
  • Release options: remote, manual, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic
  • Monitoring: integrated load cells, visual/audible alarms, control room panels
