Description

Product overview
As an integrated solution, the Berthing Aid System can be extended with the Environmental Monitoring System (EMS). The basic configuration provides wind speed and direction sensors; additional meteorological and oceanographic sensors can be added to support pilots and operators and to define operational limits, increasing overall safety. Most sensors are available in hazardous-area variants. Standard oceanographic instrumentation typically includes wave, tide and current sensors. The instrumentation is designed to minimise maintenance and operate reliably in maritime environments.

Key benefits
  • Integration with Straatman Berthing Aid System for combined situational awareness
  • Reliable, real-time measurement of environmental conditions
  • Modular configuration: basic wind sensors with multiple optional sensors
  • Low-maintenance instrumentation suitable for offshore and port environments
  • Supports safe and efficient berthing and mooring operations through live data

Better decision-making
Provides pilots and operators with live environmental data to support operational decisions during berthing. Weather and ocean condition information can be shared with vessel crews, port staff or other stakeholders to define go/no-go criteria and operational limits.

Standard EMS system includes
  • Wind speed and direction
  • Temperature and humidity
  • Barometric pressure
  • Visibility
  • Tide
  • Current speed and direction
  • Wave
  • Lightning detection

Oceanographic instrumentation and technical characteristics
  • Integration: designed to integrate with Straatman Berthing Aid System and other port systems
  • Sensor options: modular selection of meteorological and oceanographic sensors
  • Hazardous-area capability: most sensors available in hazardous-area variants
  • Oceanographic package: standard inclusion of wave, tide and current sensors
  • Reliability: robust design engineered to minimise maintenance
  • Real-time data delivery: supports dashboards and operator displays for immediate situational awareness
  • Typical parameters measured: wind, temperature, humidity, pressure, visibility, tide, current, wave, lightning
