Short description
The Zenit Ambiente Drum Skimmer recovers oils of different viscosities from the water surface, delivering water‑free oil suitable for reuse where applicable. It also recovers thin oil films that create surface iridescence. The unit can operate autonomously for long periods without constant operator supervision and is suitable for marine and inland water spill response as well as industrial tank and reservoir cleaning.

Operation
The skimmer works by adhesion of oil to a specially selected roller material. Roller rotation generates a surface flow that enables recovery even from areas distant to the unit. The roller is driven by an air motor and lifts oil off the water. As the oil reaches the scrapers it is collected and conveyed to the on‑board reservoir. A pneumatic direct‑suction pump, located on the skimmer, transfers the recovered oil to final storage. The unit can be operated using a compressor for remote deployments.

Applications
The Drum Skimmer is intended for recovery of petroleum products in case of spills at sea, in rivers or inland waters and for use in industrial tanks, reservoirs and wells contaminated by waste oil. No chemicals or solvents are required, so the recovered product can be reused where appropriate. The skimmer is buoyant and operable with liquid depths as low as 20 cm; it is unsinkable and resistant to seawater and many chemicals thanks to its plastic construction. Its compact, lightweight design enables manual handling or use with light lifting equipment. The unit is patented, CE marked and complies with national and European regulations.
