Overview
Hempel’s Silic One 77450 is a biocide-free, high-solid fouling-release coating formulated for hulls and propellers of new boats or substrates without epoxy. A silicone-based hydrogel micro layer creates a smooth, low-friction surface that reduces organism attachment. Service life on the hull is approximately 2 years.

Surface preparation
Clean with a suitable detergent and dry-sand with abrasive paper P120. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow the surface to dry completely before coating.

Application
Apply the system layers as specified. If the recoating interval is exceeded, apply a fresh coat of Hempel’s Light Primer 45551 or Hempel’s Silic One Tiecoat 27450 as required. Ensure Tiecoat is applied to full coverage. After 48 hours, clean the surface with Pre-Clean 67602, rinse with fresh water and dry before applying the next coat. Overcoating should be done as soon as possible after the surface has dried.

• Hempel’s Light Primer 45551: two-component, solvent-based epoxy primer/undercoat to reduce osmotic blistering in GRP and provide general corrosion protection.
• Hempel’s Silic One Tiecoat 27450: high-solid, silicone-based tiecoat to secure adhesion between primers and Silic One.
• Hempel’s Silic One 77450: biocide-free, high-solid silicone foul-release coating; hydrogel micro layer provides low friction; service life on hull ~2 years.

Notes
*Silic One Tiecoat must be applied to full coverage to ensure adhesion. **After 48 hours clean with Pre-Clean 67602, rinse with fresh water and allow to dry before recoating. ***Applies to each layer.
