Overview
Spreader model 8610 Vectrix is a telescopic piggyback top-lift spreader for intermodal handling of laden ISO containers and trailers up to 45 tonnes. It is engineered for mounting on Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) or Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) cranes. Two parallel telescopic beams provide maximum overlap and structural stiffness to absorb vertical and significant horizontal forces.

VECTRIX
The Vectrix series combines modular design and precision engineering for simplified customization and serviceability. Modular components allow quick replacement, reducing downtime and lifecycle costs.

Twistlock system
The spreader features hardened pendular ISO quick-exchange twistlocks with hydraulic activation and electrical plus mechanical interlocks to prevent incorrect locking or unlocking. Twistlocks are dimensioned for heavy operational loading.

Telescoping system
Each beam is telescoped by one hydraulic cylinder mounted on top of the mainframe for accessibility. Dual electric motor and pump assemblies provide synchronized and reliable beam extension between 20ft and 40ft.

Piggyback legs system
The automatic folding piggyback legs follow ELME's load-clamping sequence, enabling lowering between block-stacked containers. Feet are manufactured in Strenx® 900E (meets S 890 QL). Integrated sensors detect trailer clamping and lifting to prevent unintended unclamping.

Control and protection system
Control voltage is converted to 24 V DC. Continuous electrical monitoring provides status indications for seating, locking/unlocking and piggyback modes (lifted, clamped, unclamped). Signals are used as preconditions for protection functions: twistlock activation, telescoping, piggyback operation and lift enable.
