Overview
Modern carbon spinnaker poles for sailboats and yachts are part of the CUL-Masts product range. CUL spars feature tapered end pieces to simplify handling and reinforcement with state-of-the-art Innegra or Aramid fibers as impact protection. All products come from CUL-Masts own production.

Laminate structure and reinforcements
The spinnaker pole is frequently moved on deck and bears loads against the forestay on close reaches, so high breaking strain and impact resistance are essential. Ultra-modern Innegra fiber is used to meet these demands: lighter than carbon, tougher than aramid and non-absorbent. Innegra combined with carbon delivers a high-strength, low-weight laminate. In premium variants the fiber orientation is mainly longitudinal and a UV-resistant multi-layer coating is applied.

Fittings and lines
Tapered pole ends receive small, lightweight end fittings to ease handling. A practical solution for line handling is the Dyneema Hahnepot, which retracts when not in use and is supplied with spliced inlet rubber. Topnant and downhaul can be equipped with inlet rubber. Optional automatic fittings (Pfeifer EasyClick or Forespar) are available from Ø40 profiles.

Technical specifications

• Material: Carbon (primary) with optional Innegra or Aramid fiber reinforcements for impact protection.
• Premium product: Innegra fibers combined with carbon; fiber direction mainly longitudinal for high strength and low weight.
• Alternative: machine-wound standard spinnaker pole without taper, fiber orientation approx. 15°.
• Surface: UV-resistant multi-layer coating available.
• End fittings: small, light end fittings on tapered ends; options include Pfeifer aluminum fittings, POM ball 40 mm for some classes.
