The Parasail is positioned between the usual downwind sail and the Parasailor, making it your very personal guarantee of a sailing trip that is sporting but relaxed. Be that with your guests on a club regatta or on a family cruise: The striking appearance of the Parasail as well as your own cool and calm performance will make heads turn - and that in front of a home crowd too.
The gentle way in which the Parasail vents any gusts of wind protects your rig and spars. ISTEC manufactures the Parasail to aviation engineering standards from extremely tough but light spinnaker cloth. This ensures that wear and tear is minimal even with frequent use.
The Parasail willingly responds to the smallest of gusts and quickly picks up speed. You do not have to be out racing in order to enjoy the Parasail.

The Hood Cruising Chute delivers spinnaker-type performance without the trauma. It has been developed over several years to give the cruising sailor extra performance and, in light conditions, close reaching, due to it’s asymmetric cut.
Now you can forget about the cost and complication of spinnaker poles and specialised equipment - all that’s required is a halyard, a sheet and an adjustable tack line.
The Hood Cruising Chute has an LP of 165% of J and is considerably larger than a full size Genoa, but not as big as a conventional spinnaker. To improve handling and alleviate some of the control problems associated with Spinnakers the Hood Cruising Chute has a narrower, flatter head which also lowers the centre of power. It’s asymmetric, tri-radial design exploits the strong warp characteristics of nylon to control shape and minimise distortion.

The Neil Pryde Sails spinnaker product line consists of two types; The Vector line which is the traditional symmetrical spinnakers and our Vectrix Line which covers our asymmetric designs. Both styles are listed below.
Vectrix Cruising Spinnaker. This is a tried and true design that works well over a broad range of wind angles...from about 50-155 degrees. A must have sail for light air sailing.

These are sails exclusively for downwind sailing. For sure more difficult to handle, the Spinnaker is mostly a downwind sail. For narrower angles, the Gennaker shows its potential: it is definitely an easy-to-handle sail, especially for cruising and for small crew. The construction can be both TriRadial and True TriRadial. TriRadial features a radial cut for clews and head, and horizontal panels in the middle of the sail. True TriRadial is the same as the above, but features a fully radial cut, also in the middle of the sail; obviously it is stronger and performs better especially at narrower angles. The cloth used is NorLon, Nylon product by North Cloth. Weights availables: 0.5 oz., 0.75 oz., 1.5 oz., 2.5 oz.

Perhaps the most versatile asymmetrical, the v5 comes as close as possible to being the perfect all-purpose offwind sail. Smaller and even easier to handle than a full sized v3, it provides un-matched reaching performance with good downwind speed. With typical girths of 90% or less, it design is geared towards tighter wind angles than traditional cruising spinnakers. It takes full advantage of the structural advances and three dimensional shaping characteristics of the modern asymmetrical. The v3 can be carried well inside a beam reach, even in moderate wind conditions.
At the same time, the v5 projects enough area to weather to deliver all-around broad reaching speed. It is the perfect size for the short-handed crew, and is particularly well adapted to today'more easily driven hull forms and lighter displacement. With it's strength, specialized shaping, and moderate size, the v5 can be comfortably used in breezy conditions as well.

Hood Sails have been winning regattas and races, including the Americas Cup, since 1952. Today Hood's highly experienced sail-designers, aided by the very latest software, will work with you to build fast sails.
Hood specialise in designing and building racing sails for club racing, classic yachts, short-handed racing (single-handed and double handed) and one-designs that mandate woven sailcloth.
Every sail is individually designed, using the very latest software, taking into account: the exact specification of your rig; how and where you sail; the abilities of your helmsmen and crew; and your budget. Hood Sail Consultants are then available to sail with you to help set-up your sails in order for them to deliver their maximum potential. We then keep you sail design on our database so that, when the time comes for a replacement, we can build either: a perfect replica or, if you require changes, we can fine tune the design to your exact requirements.

The U.S. Spinnaker Fabrics are a tried and tested range of high quality ripstop Nylons. They span the full weight range from 0.5oz to 2.2oz generic. Lighter styles feature a coated finish for outstanding performance and durability, while heavier products are impregnated for increased durability.

The balance of geometry and shaping has been refined to new levels, and designs are tuned more carefully to target wind range and angles.
The complex, multi-panel tri-radial design allow for more precise alignment of loads. Increased number of panels enables the use of three dimensional shaping, creating the smoothest flying shape. Narrow head gores reduce diagonal load on seams. Fanned radial patches minimize weight at corners. Corner reinforcements are spray glued for maximum bonding surface area and smoothness. Numbers are inked on instead using insignia to minimize weight and smooth center sections. Leech cords are standard.

The range of the asymmetrical spis of cruising Elvstrom Sails is declined around a cut tri-optimal. By reorientating each panel (width) in the pin of the effort to which it will be subjected, the spi offers a stability of profile maximum.
The purpose of this characteristic is to return your spi more comfortable (less rhythmic rolling, starting power supply generator to the windward side etc...) and more general-purpose (better aptitude to be gone back to the wind).
Their forms, directly inspired of the experience gained in regatta, mets the accent on the facility and the stability of adjustment. This effect is obtained in particular by full and round cambers of attack.
The grammage of roving evolves/moves between 1.1 (45 gr/m2) and 1.5 (65 gr/m2) according to the size and the program of the boat.
The general completions are proposed according to the Coastal standard (pleasure use) or Offshore sport boat (intensive and/or deep-sea navigations) as well as possible to adapt to the exigeances owners.
However, whatever the version of completion, all the asymmetrical spis Elvstrom Sails are equipped with a nerve with guindant intended to take again the tension of guindant with the loose one.
This completion, while making it possible to tend effectively guindant it without deforming the roving (the nerve in rope fine polyester taking again the tension) makes it possible to go back much more effectively to the wind generally, and particularly in small time.

The range Spi Racing Elvstrom Sails is characterized by very elaborate cuts intended to ensure your spi an optimal stability of profile.
The immense experiment of Elvstrom sail making associated with fluidity with the information flow between our research departments in Europe guarantees an answer tested in term of form on more the share of the supports sailing today.
According to the program, the gauge and the exigeances of the customer, these forms will be developed with an aim of obtaining a maximum versatility, or on the contrary a well defined specialization ("spi vmg" A1, "runner" A2 or A4, "spi of loose" A3 or "heavy" A5).

Doyle has developed and refined cruising spinnakers for better all around performance. Downwind sailing has never been easier or more fun.
Asymmetric Power Cruiser (APC) The Doyle APC is a very versatile, easy to use sail. No pole is needed. The APC gets you moving even in the lighest wind. The optional ATN Spinnaker Sleeve makes handling the APC a breeze. Handling the APC is easy, even if you have never flown a spinnaker before.

With all of the recent development of asymmetrical spinnakers lately it's easy to forget Doyle's conventional symmetrical spinnakers. Building on past development with geodesic fairing, recent development have been accelerated by enhanced CAD software and analysis tools, resulting in even faster spinnakers.
