As in the other Chesapeake™ variants, the Double and Triple are built solidly, with epoxy and fiberglass on the inside, outside and deck of the 4mm okoume hull. For safety, watertight bulkheads are standard. The cockpits are deep and snug, with the standard Rapid Pulse backbands offering excellent lumbar support, while the cambered deck affords plenty of paddle clearance.
The Chesapeake Triple™ can accommodate three adults, but we have found over the years that most paddlers will use the center cockpit for children or pets, or for light gear stowage with a cockpit cover snapped in place. The Triple's ability to carry families with a couple of kids or dogs is a major attraction, but it's too big to paddle singlehanded without auxiliary power unless it's a glassy calm day.
Both the Double and Triple make terrific base hulls for the CLC SailRig, having the volume and waterline length for fast and efficient "beach cruising."
There was a lot of demand but hardly anything like it in 2002 when CLC unveiled the Chesapeake Sport Tandem. This very narrow, very fast double is perfect for athletic couples who want to really cover the miles, whether it's for excercise, super-fast touring, or winning races. Most of our Sport Tandems are sold to people who watched one disappear over the horizon in front of them during a race. While intended for racing or working out, the Sport Tandem can still carry a good load of gear, making it ideal for multiple-day unsupported races like the Watertribe Everglades Challenge.

ON BIG TOURS WITH THE VIPER! It is always the same picture. The parents are paddling ahead in their nice, streamlined touring boats and the children are struggling to keep up with second-hand white water kayaks. With the VIPER this is now a thing of the past. The VIPER is especially suited for children, teenagers and small sized adults between 30 and 60 kg of weight and 165cm hight maximun. A smaller seating shell as well as the smaller and slimmer cockpit in connection with the thigh rest, offers an optimum seating position for smaller paddlers, also on longer tours. Equipped with the traditional Prijon knickspant, the VIPER has very nice tracking qualities, despite being still well to maneuver. A real PRIJON boat!

While the CLC SailRig™-equipped kayak is a proper sailboat by any measure, the beauty of the design is that you get your kayak back when you're done sailing. With the SailRig™ removed, all that's left are four eyebolts and an easily hidden mast step: no bulky reinforcements or heavy gear. No worries if the wind dies, because the aka (crossbeam) spacing permits a paddling stroke with the SailRig™ in place.
Fast sailing kayak-trimarans open up all sorts of adventure possibilities. The compact kayak and rig can be cartopped to some far-flung archipelago, assembled on the beach, loaded with gear, and sailed 40+ miles in eight hours. If the wind dies, you paddle. In good weather, long crossings can be contemplated, and a theoretical voyage might carry you 250 miles or more in six days.

The MILLENIUM is the elegant and lighter version of our SEAYAK, made of HTP. This beautiful kayak is a combination of a fast sea kayak and an agile single kayak for rivers and lakes. On the one hand the long, slim, form provides a high level of speed, the pronounced knickspant on the lower hull, on the other, offers a comparably high measure of agility, so that you will be able to use the Millenium also on rivers and lakes in an optimum way. An attractive look and the complete equipment round off the picture of this excellent kayak.

Sporty, smaller paddlers, women and teenagers are the customers for the CATALINA. The seating can be best adjusted for these paddlers. Despite the short length for this boating class, the CATALINA is extremely fast.
Seasoned paddlers will appreciate its strengths.

Our big star! The ideal kayak for long stretches with luggage across larger waterways. The KODIAK is fast, safe and offers unique storage space for this boating class as well as a very spacious seating hatch which is especially interesting for larger paddlers. The high volume is also a further safety aspect when touring at sea. The paddler can concentrate on the waves and does not have to permanently fight to keep the kayak in position in the water. With its face lift in the year 2006, the KODIAK became even more attractive and functional. The seating hatch was lifted at the front, to provide more space for the thighs. Additionally the Kodiak now comes with the handy Deck Box.

The fastest horse in our stable. The BARRACUDA has been trained on speed and tracking without accepting compromises. Flatter and slimmer than the KODIAK, the BARRACUDA makes longer journeys pass very quickly. The smaller hatch offers the best possible contact with the kayak, in order to keep the boat under control even in choppy wave conditions. It goes without saying that adequate equipment with two partitions, the PRIJON Deck Box and various deck mountings is also included.

|
|
The T 505 is a fast, fully equipped single kayak with knickspant, which is excellently suited for open waters. Two partitions, the PRIJON Deck Box as well as a relaxed seating position are the best possible basis for wonderful luggage tours on rivers and lakes. Also for short tours after work, the PRILITE is ideally suited due to its low weight and the therefore simple handling outside the water.

For quite some time now, the Seayak has been the attraction amongst our fast single kayaks. Hardly any other kayak in the segment is as universally applicable as the SEAYAK. One the one hand the long, slim shape provides high speed, the pronounced knickspant on hull, on the other, offers a comparably high level of agility, so that you can also use the SEAYAK on rivers and lakes in an optimum way. Its attractive exterior and the complete equipment round off the picture of this excellent kayak.

This Greenland style kayak is an excellent choice for the long distance tour. The Ysak' lengthy water line makes for good tracking and provides excellent mileage with minimal effort. All models are PE 3 layer sandwich construction giving extra buoyancy and hull rigidity. The Ysak takes an optional rudder and can be generously outfitted.

No seam, new technology and exceptional design combine to make the Presto 475 one of the hottest composite boats on the market.
Light weight and stable with a classic greenland design this kayaks well proportioned cockpit allows all paddler types to enjoy plenty of leg room. A favorite paddler feature is the small screw in hatch directly in front of the cockpit, great for storing frequently needed items and/or lunch. The Presto 475 is a breeze to paddle and a fantastic looker

|
The presto 537 is a large capacity kayak and has no problem taking a 200 lbs paddler plus all their gear. The cockpit is very roomy, the 537 is fast and stable especially when loaded. Navigation is easy with the built in rudder. The same beautiful lines as the Pesto 475, no seam and heart stopping design inside as well as out.

The Chesapeake touring kayaks are icons in the sea kayaking world. Built in the thousands in dozens of countries around the world, the Chesapeakes are solid-tracking, comfortable kayaks that are easy to build but good-looking and delightfully fast. High-volume bows lift you over rough seas--or powerboat wakes--while the skeg-like stern prevents weather-cocking in blustery winds. CLC's signature cambered decks shed spray, increase the storage space inside the hull, add strength without weight, and look great. Chesapeake kayak builders explore quiet local rivers and paddle the length of the Sea of Cortez. Chesapeakes are built in garages, apartments, living rooms, television studios, and at places like the esteemed WoodenBoat School in Maine.

Elegant lines result in real performance. The sweeping sheerline complements the nicely balanced ends; there isn't an awkward hump or bump anywhere. The sheer panels are "tumbled home" to reduce windage and improve paddle clearance. Like all Chesapeake Light Craft kayak kits, the decks are smoothly cambered, not cut up into a faceted, homebuilt appearance.
West Greenland-style hulls provide telepathic handling to the skilled paddler, while initial and secondary stability are ample for the newly initiated. On the water, the Shearwater demonstrates excellent poise and responsiveness in a broad range of conditions, edging turns easily when leaned buy tracking straight when pushed hard in surf. A cutaway bow and skeg-like stern ensures tracking even in extremely rough water. The relatively low profile means you'll spend less time on corrective strokes and more time covering ground.

Laguna, a super-light single touring kayak in carbon-aramide or GFK. Based on the Yukon shape, the Laguna is primarily suited for smaller and medium rivers and lakes. The keel is not as pronounced as on the longer touring kayaks, which gives the Laguna greater agility. Even slight impacts on the edges noticeably reduce the curve radius. So it is a lot of fun to maneuver the Laguna around tights bends. The weight of the carbon boat is approx. 18.5 kg. The handling of this lightweight is easy, loading on and off the car roof no longer a problem.

A flatter cockpit which goes higher up at the front as well as a more speed-based length-width-ratio makes the MOTION especially interesting for a bit sportier and lighter paddlers. The PRIJON Deck Box comes as a serial feature with the MOTION.
