The POD 4600 system offers integrated propulsion and steering systems for large vessels of all types. It ensures unprecedented propulsion efficiency, easy maneuverability, more onboard available space and top comfort and reliability, no matter what application. The POD 4600 is compatible with all the main marine OEM engines. Details The ZF POD 4600 offers the latest pod-drive technology, complete with transmission, rudder system, and integrated gas exhaust system for ease of installation. It is designed for an input torque of 5.000 Nm with a maximum power of 1.700 hp at 2.450 rpm (0,527 kW/rpm Pleasure Duty, 0,342 kW/rmp Medium Duty). The integrated clutch and deeper reduction ratio (2,434) as well as the large pushing countre-rotating propellers (up to 38,5”), underlining the attention ZF Marine has given to the propulsion efficiency of large vessels. Key feature to help boat builders during installation is the simplified installation procedure (both tunnel and deadrise design supported) that could be arranged positioning the drives inside the engine room from top or bottom. Further advantages are the extremely compact design and reliability of the electro-hydraulic steering unit. State of the art mechanical solutions and integrated sensors ensure ease of maintenance and highest reliability over the lifetime of the vessel. Interfaces with main navigation systems and thrusters are available.
