Each bronze stern bearing housing is fitted with Duramax (Johnson) Cutless Bearings to help ensure years of trouble free operation. These are the same stern bearings found on virtually all new “Downeast” style lobster boats. Compatible with our exclusive RS Series Rope Shields (see pictures for more detail). Our SSB Series stern bearings can also be fitted with our exclusive rope shield device (RS Series) that helps prevent line and other marine debris from entering the water lubricated bearing. Our rope shields will help prolong the life of your water lubricated bearing and reduce maintenance costs.
