Description

Description
The C320SP is a manual below-deck headsail furler from the Profurl Cruising range. It provides an aesthetic below-deck solution while optimising the sail luff for improved performance. The tack point is height adjustable. Maximum forestay diameter: 7 mm (rod #12). Extrusions: colorless anodized round profiles. Warranty: 10 years.

Technical description
Profurl furling systems: designed for reliability and longevity
Profurl mechanisms use sealed, high-performance bearings and fully watertight construction to ensure consistent furling performance in all conditions and to maximise service life.

High performance systems
  • Extrusions are manufactured in a special alloy (6106) for an optimised strength-to-weight ratio.
  • Ball bearings are engineered for an optimised weight/resistance balance to enable smooth furling under load.

Reliable and maintenance free
  • Ball bearings made from high-strength 100 C6 carbon steel and assembled in a sealed grease bath to prevent corrosion and increase working load.
  • Watertightness ensured by two double-lip seals to prevent ingress of salt, sand, dust and water.
  • Non-deformable plastic drums resist impacts (anchor bump, collisions) and are UV-resistant.

Ease of use
  • Standard feeder allows a single crew member to hoist the sail easily.
  • Optional opening pre-feeder by Wichard guides the luff tape into the extrusions for rapid hoisting and can be reattached to the luff tape without removing the headsail.

Safety of use
  • Double cage arms (exclusive to PROFURL) prevent the furling line from jumping off the drum and allow the line to re-align by simply pulling.
  • Stainless steel locking devices are available for installations flush to the deck.

Material durability
PROFURL selects and tests materials to withstand marine conditions and extreme loads. Components are validated for corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
  • 100 C6 carbon steel ball bearings in sealed grease bath.
  • Non-deformable plastic drums with UV protection.
  • Aluminium extrusions offering an excellent weight/resistance ratio.

Components
The product includes a drum, a complete set of grey rounded extrusions, a swivel and a turnbuckle cylinder. Supplied as standard with short link plates.
