Description

Short description
CCF fast hardener for Entropy Resins' CCR biobased epoxy casting and molding resin. Designed for casting, inlay and coating applications in high thickness (≈62 mm with CCF; ≈100 mm with the slow hardener). Super Sap® formulation. System biobased content ~30%; biosourced carbon content 20%. USDA BioPreferred certified.

System overview
CCR is a low-viscosity, water-clear, UV-resistant epoxy system specifically formulated for casting and moulding. Low viscosity enables bubble-free and crystalline castings, suitable for artistic and industrial small-scale castings. The CCR system offers two cure rates: CCF (fast) for rapid, small-scale castings and CCS (slow) for high-density or larger castings.

Use
Jewellery, thick coatings, castings, inlay and moulding.

Consumption
Fast (CCF): ~250 g / 231 ml for a cube ≈62 mm. Slow (CCS): ~1000 g / 935 ml for a cube ≈100 mm.

Working conditions
Recommended working temperature: 15°C–25°C.

Tips for use
  • Measure components by weight to respect the 100:43 mixing ratio (weight) or 2:1 (volume).
  • Stir thoroughly for at least 2 minutes, scraping container walls to ensure homogeneity.
  • Work in a temperature-controlled, low-humidity environment; avoid cold or very humid conditions.
  • Ensure surfaces are dry, clean and free of oil; sanding is strongly recommended to improve adhesion.
  • Perform preliminary tests with intended materials and processes to confirm cure behaviour and compatibility.

Mechanical characteristics
Tensile modulus (ASTM D638): 3.1 GPa
Tensile strength (ASTM D638): 56.1 MPa

Flexural strength (ASTM D790): 81.7 MPa
Compressive strength (ASTM D695): 85.4 MPa
Ultimate Tg: 51°C
Hardness (Shore D): 70–80

Treatment characteristics
Mixing ratio (volume): 2:1
Mixing ratio (weight): 100:43
Viscosity (A/B/mixed at 25°C): 2160 / 30 / 370 mPas
Component densities (25°C): resin 1.12 g·cm-3, hardener 0.97 g·cm-3
Density of mixture (25°C): 1.08 g·cm-3
Pot life (at 25°C): 90 minutes
Dry to the touch (at 35°C): 24 hours
Recommended complete cure: 7 days at 25°C

Environmental features
VOC content (ASTM D2369): 9.2 g/l
Biosourced carbon content (ASTM D6866): 20%
High transparency and low polymerisation rate allow production of large/thick castings. Attention to humidity: water can cause opacity; if opacity occurs, apply controlled heat (heat gun) to restore clarity.
