Your suggestions for improvement:
Remote controls for boats are wired or wireless electronic devices allowing crew members to control various equipment from a distance. Those displayed on NauticExpo are intended for use on leisure craft.
ApplicationsSuch remotes can be used to control thrusters, engines, windlasses, automatic pilots, navigation lights and numerous other pieces of equipment. They are particularly useful for small crews and single-handers.
TechnologiesThese devices can be wired or wireless, transmitting instructions to the equipment via a dedicated relay component. The remote may feature a variety of buttons, joysticks, switches and/or indicator lights, depending on the gear being controlled. Thrusters are operated with a joystick and on-off buttons. Autopilots are operated with standard heading controls ( +1, -1, +10, -10, etc.).
Multifunction models can simultaneously control several devices. For example, a unified engine/thruster remote can facilitate port maneuvers with a small crew or when it is impossible to see the entire vessel and its berth from the helm.
Choice will depend on the make and model of the gear to be controlled. In some cases, a receiver/relay box must be installed. Be sure there is enough space for it. Some remote controls are only compatible with equipment built by the same company.
