Description

Overview
PILOT-H is the standard Maritronix wireless yacht remote control system for boat owners, skippers, yacht builders, installers and marine professionals requiring reliable wireless control for docking, undocking, anchoring, mooring, stern-to berthing and close-quarters manoeuvring. The system enables safe gear‑in / gear‑out engine commands at idle speed and lets the skipper operate selected manoeuvring functions from outside the main helm position.

Wireless Yacht Control for Docking and Close-Quarters Manoeuvring
PILOT-H is developed for practical handling situations where improved visibility of the boat, quay, pontoon, mooring lines, anchor or obstacles is required. It allows control from more useful on‑board positions (aft deck, side deck, swim platform, bow area, etc.), depending on vessel layout. The standard version is optimised for predictable idle‑speed engine commands rather than proportional throttle control.

Standard Gear-In / Gear-Out Engine Control
PILOT-H provides single-step engine-control buttons: pressing a button engages the selected engine forward or reverse at idle speed (installation-dependent). This simple logic is practical for docking, anchoring, mooring and close-quarters manoeuvring. Two-stage proportional response is not included in the standard PILOT-H (available in PILOT-H PRO for customers requiring a second calibrated response level).

Transmitter Button Layout (numbered)
  • 1 — STOP / OFF: Turns off or stops the remote-control system.
  • 2 — START / function: Activates the system or used in function combinations.
  • 3 — Bow thruster left: Moves bow to port.
  • 4 — Bow thruster right: Moves bow to starboard.
  • 5 — Port engine forward: Engages port engine forward at idle.
  • 6 — Starboard engine forward: Engages starboard engine forward at idle.
  • 7 — Port engine reverse: Engages port engine reverse at idle.
  • 8 — Starboard engine reverse: Engages starboard engine reverse at idle.
  • 9 — Stern thruster left: Moves stern to port.
  • 10 — Stern thruster right: Moves stern to starboard.
Note: anchor windlass control can be implemented by holding START and pressing a bow-thruster button; exact assignment depends on installation and wiring.

Designed for Modern Electronic Marine Engine Control Systems
PILOT-H integrates with a wide range of engine control systems (electronic throttle & shift, CAN‑Bus architectures, joystick‑ready propulsion systems, analog controls and engine‑specific interfaces). It functions as an additional protected control interface and is not intended to replace original helm controls or onboard safety logic.

Compact Receiver, Installation & Configuration
The receiver is compact (260 × 167 × 82 mm) and designed for neat installation in modern helm stations. Systems can be supplied with prepared harnesses, gateway modules or plug‑and‑play connectors for specific engine control systems to enable clean, reversible installations. A built‑in configuration interface and installation wizard is accessible from any Wi‑Fi capable device using a standard web browser (no dedicated app required).

Industrial-grade safety and hardware
PILOT-H uses a safety architecture with redundant control logic: two independent microcontrollers and two independent relays in series per control path. Wireless communication employs coded transmission with Hamming-code-based methods to reduce unintended activation and interference. Each system is individually tested prior to shipping; standard tested operating range is up to 100 m (open-area conditions may reach approx. 500 m depending on environment). The transmitter is IP65-rated, buoyant, powered by 2 × AA batteries (up to 12 months depending on usage) and includes LED battery status. The receiver uses a robust aluminium enclosure and diagnostic LEDs.

Optional features
  • Optional Maritronix docking joystick for more intuitive control (recommended for twin-engine boats with thrusters).
  • Gateway modules and prepared harnesses for warranty-conscious integration with modern electronic propulsion systems.
