OverviewPILOT-H PRO is the advanced proportional version of the Maritronix PILOT-H wireless yacht remote control system. Designed for boat owners, skippers, yacht builders, installers and marine professionals, it delivers precise low-speed control for docking, undocking, anchoring, mooring, stern-to berthing and close-quarters manoeuvring.
Key features- Calibrated two-stage proportional engine control with two pressure points per engine button (Stage 1 = smooth idle-speed gear engagement; Stage 2 = stronger calibrated thrust).
- Controls engines, bow thruster, stern thruster, anchor windlass, horn and up to 6 functions depending on configuration.
- Transmitter: IP65-rated, buoyant, powered by 2×AA (LR6) batteries, LED battery-status indicator; typical battery life up to 12 months depending on use.
- Receiver: Industrial polycarbonate enclosure, compact helm fit (160 × 160 × 70 mm) with diagnostic status LEDs.
- Robust coded wireless link with Hamming-code transmission; tested range up to 100 m before shipment and up to approx. 500 m in open area depending on environment and installation.
- Industrial-grade safety architecture: dual microcontrollers and dual-relay path; emergency stop implemented to ISO 13850 principles.
- Browser-based configuration and installation wizard accessible via any Wi‑Fi device and standard web browser (no mobile app or special PC software required).
- Plug-and-play installation options with prepared harnesses, gateway modules and analog interfaces for many engine control systems.
Two-Stage Proportional Engine Response and OperationThe PILOT-H PRO transmitter uses two-step engine-control buttons: a normal press activates Stage 1 for smooth gear engagement at idle speed; pressing further to the second pressure point activates Stage 2 to command a stronger calibrated engine response. Stage 2 behaviour is calibrated during installation and depends on engine/throttle interface and vessel configuration.
Button / Control mapping- 1 — STOP / OFF: Stage 1 — turns off or stops the remote-control system. Stage 2 — not applicable.
- 2 — START / Function: Stage 1 — activates the system. Stage 2 — not applicable; may be used for special function combos.
- 3 — Bow thruster left: Stage 1 — first response level. Stage 2 — second response level if supported.
- 4 — Bow thruster right: Stage 1 — first response level. Stage 2 — second response level if supported.
- 5 — Port engine forward: Stage 1 — engage forward gear at idle speed. Stage 2 — forward with higher preset RPM (calibrated on site).
- 6 — Starboard engine forward: Stage 1 — engage forward gear at idle speed. Stage 2 — forward with higher preset RPM (calibrated on site).
- 7 — Port engine reverse: Stage 1 — engage reverse at idle speed. Stage 2 — reverse with higher preset RPM (calibrated on site).
- 8 — Starboard engine reverse: Stage 1 — engage reverse at idle speed. Stage 2 — reverse with higher preset RPM (calibrated on site).
- 9 — Stern thruster left: Stage 1 — first response level. Stage 2 — second response level if supported.
- 10 — Stern thruster right: Stage 1 — first response level. Stage 2 — second response level if supported.
Supported integrations and interfaces- Volvo Penta: EDC, EVC-B/C/D/E, EVC 2.0, EVC E4, IPS and joystick-ready systems — Maritronix interface / Volvo Penta TJS Gateway where supported.
- Yanmar: VC10/VC20/VC30 — Yanmar VC Gateway / CAN-Bus interface.
- Suzuki Marine: Precision Control SPC — Suzuki SPC Gateway / CAN-Bus interface.
- Mercury / MerCruiser: SmartCraft DTS, DTS Next Gen, Axius, Joystick Piloting — SmartCraft DTS Gateway interface.
- Yamaha, Honda, Cummins, Caterpillar, MAN, MTU, ZF, Twin Disc, Glendinning, NHK MEC, SeaStar/Kobelt, Ultraflex: Integration via corresponding gateways or interfaces; exact support depends on model, software and helm layout.
Installation and safetyPILOT-H PRO is intended as an additional external control interface and not a replacement for original helm controls or onboard safety logic. Where compatible gateway modules or plug-and-play harnesses are available, integration can be performed without bypassing manufacturer safety features or diagnostics. Analog installations use filtered outputs, high-speed electronics and continuous monitoring to ensure stable throttle behaviour.
Optional accessories- Maritronix docking joystick for more intuitive twin-engine and thruster control.
- Prepared plug-and-play harnesses and gateway modules for supported control systems.
NotesPILOT-H PRO is particularly suited to heavier boats, vessels with high windage, tight marina spaces and stern-to berthing where calibrated proportional thrust improves safety and low-speed precision.
