Unfortunately, not all Dacron sails are the same. They come in a wide range of qualities and the main difference between them is not at all easy to see: The quality of the Dacron sailcloth itself. With this ranging from poor to excellent, Dacron sails made from different materials really only have one thing in common: they all look very good when they are new.
While the best of Dacron sails will stay that way for years and years, the lower end of the range may not last much more than a season. They will soon loose their designed shape resulting in excessive heel and poor pointing ability.
Our Premium Dacron sails are amongst the best. They are built using only high quality Dacrons from leading sail cloth manufacturers. They are finished to high standards and offshore specifications. These are really good sails that will offer many years of enjoyable cruising.

Our Dacron Cruising Sails are the right choice for smaller boats or for lighter conditions.
They don't have quite as many features as our sails normally have. The essentials are still there and should you need some extra details, they are available as options. On the other hand, you won't be paying for features you don't need. That's the main philosophy behind our Dacron Cruising sails.
The Dacron sailcloth used for these sails isn't top of the line. But it surely isn't bottom either. It's a good cruising material, manufactured by Bainbridge International, and very suitable for smaller boats. Or for bigger boats, sailing in lighter conditions.
All in all these sails are good quality cruising sails, with no hidden drawbacks. They are also the most economical choice and available at very competitive prices.

The Custom Axis main- and headsails are high performance laminate sails. They are modern designs and hand-crafted to high standards. Yet they are now available at the price of a Dacron sail.
A good Dacron sail, that is. Our sails have all the details that a good offshore sail should have, and they should be compared to such sails.
At least when it comes to prices. Longterm performance, on the other hand, is surely superior to that of a Dacron sail. All serious racers know that. Now it's time for cruisers to enjoy that experience.

It is the ideal cut for the sails of the boats of less than 45 '. 4 zones of orientation of the panels adapt to the diagram of the efforts and the constraints. This definition allows the use of the decreasing grammages in sandwich. All the parameters like the twist, exit and angles of attack, and volumes are controlled.

The Custom Axis Laminate is very different from most other racing laminates. It belongs to a new generation of modern, asymmetric and multi-axial sailcloth, designed for cross-cut sails rather than radial cut sails.
But that's not all. The laminate itself is individually designed and constructed, sail by sail and panel by panel. Each Custom Axis Laminate sail has 6 fibre angles which are set individually, for each particular sail, according to the anticipated load lines of the sail.
And on top of this, we also vary the fibre density in the sail, with additional fibre put in the leech area, where the highest loads are concentrated. All in all, no two sails will be the same.
The racing version of the Custom Axis Laminate is of course free of the woven taffetas used for the range of performance cruising sails. They have additional reinforcement in their high load areas but are similar in applied techniques to the Performance Cruising version.
