| Monoblocs in heat pump are available in the range 8.000 - 24.000 btu/h. The models 8-10-13 are denoted by the label "small" that identifies their particularly compact dimensions. Condensing and evaporating units are joined in a monobloc, so the installer or the boat yard must not work with refrigerating gas during installations. All systems are sea water condensed, fan coil section captures air through an air inlet and distributes conditioned air through flexible ducts to small air outelts intalled on cabine furnitures. Such systems are suggested for boats below 45' and ideal to be installed during boat building or during boat restoration. The monobloc controller is available both in remote control or wall thermostatic versions. A wide range of air distribution accessories and sea water pump models is available to personalize the installation. The assembly can be done also with the boat in sea by a medium skilled board electrician. |

This is our work horse unit! The Mermaid Model M-16 - 16,500 BTU system produces phenominal climate control to vessels ranging from 38-45 feet.
Manufactured on high grade 304-18 gauge stainless steel, this unit was
engineered with your comfort in mind. This unit is available in Right, Left, or Top air discharge configurations. The unit produces 16,500 BTU in the cool mode and 18,000 BTU in the reverse cycle heat mode. We recommend at least three discharges for this unit. One 8" x 6" grill should be within 6 feet of the unit and at least two other discharges need to be at least the 4" round supply vents. As always, more is better; these are minimums. The electric heat option is NOT available on this model. |
|
This unit is available in Right, Left, or Top air discharge configurations. It is available as a "Cool Only," Cool/Electric Heat," or "Cool/Reverse Cycle

One 8" x 6" grill should be within 6 feet of the unit and at least two other discharges need to be at least the 4" round supply vents. As always, more is better; these are minimums. Electric heat is not available in 220 Volt configurations. |
|
Smallest footprint on the market and weighs in at 31.5 lbs. for the unit, and
4.7 lbs for the electrical box! This unit has a rotatable blower and tapers down to a "V" shape for those odd angle discharge installations. We use
4" ducting and recommend a minimum of 2, 4" round supply grills with this installation. This unit will run off the new Honda eu1000i 1,000 watt portable generator, while in cool mode. Another option is to use a Statpower 1,800 watt inverter and 450+ amp hours of battery power and you can anchor out (one average) for one night. We have actually had success operating the Mermaid Model M5 off as low as a 1000 Watt Inverter and only 400 amp hours of battery power, however, longer operating times, it is recommended to use a higher wattage inverter and a bit more battery power. Due to the construction of this unit, electric heat is not an option with this unit. This unit is ideal for the "tight fit" installations and is a welcomed addition to larger vessels for individual climate controlled cabins. The Mermaid |
|
| This unit, the smallest 9,000 BTU on the market. It is almost the same size as the Mermaid M6 unit. In order to keep the smallest footprint on the market, we utilize the same stainless steel base as the Model M6 - 6500 BTU unit. This unit is available in right, left, or top air discharge configurations, and is available as a "Cool Only," "Cool/Electric Heat," or "Cool/Reverse Cycle Heat." We use a 6" and 4" ducting and recommend a minimum of three 4" round supply grills with this installation. The electric heat option generates 5,640 BTU of heat while the Reverse Cycle generates over 10,000 BTU's. Electric heat is not available in 220/240 Volt configurations. |
|
| Newest to the Mermaid Manufacturing line is the M24 - 24,000 BTU Cool Only and Cool/Reverse Cycle model marine air conditioners. Due to our customers demands, the M24 was created to solve the problem of locating a self-contained unit where performance, price, and efficiency were hard to find with an output larger than 16,500 BTU's. Constructed on Mermaid's standard 304-18awg stainless steel base with dual condensate drains, the M24 is an ideal addition to a vessel looking for maximum performance and durability all in one package. This self contained system produces 24,000 plus BTU's in Cooling and over 28,000 BTU's while in the Reverse Cycle Heat mode. The M24 is available in Right and Top air discharge configurations and only comes in 220v. The air output collar holds an 8 inch duct. It is recommended to use at least three vents on this unit - minimum sizes of 6 inch vents. As always, the move vents the better.
