The connecting components of a mooring line ensure the link between the buoy, the main line, and the mooring block or anchor. In the Temano® workshop, we carry out the manufacturing and assembly of: - Textile shackle - Stainless steel/HDPE swivel - HDPE sheave These components often represent critical points and are a common cause of mooring line failure. Mixed metal/textile connections require special attention due to differing tribological behaviors, further aggravated by stress corrosion in metal parts. In their design, Temano® mooring lines incorporate custom-engineered connection parts specifically developed to stabilize the interface between dissimilar materials, thereby ensuring greater system reliability. Temano® textile shackle: Textile shackles made of 100% Dyneema® are protected by four layers of sheaths and are exclusively used on wear parts made of high molecular weight HDPE—a material chemically compatible with Dyneema®. This material is the only one to offer the necessary mechanical performance, with high safety factors, while maintaining a compact size. Thanks to their neutral buoyancy in water, a slight tension on the shackles is enough to limit the back-and-forth movements caused by oscillations of the surface buoy when unoccupied. These oscillations are, over time, responsible for loosening of the shackles or wear phenomena due to friction. Our high-performance textile shackles offer resistance from 3 to 100 tons and more, to suit all types of moorings, from the lightest to the most demanding.
