What makes these stands superior? - The base is hot dip galvanized and sold for less than a painted base. Since the base is constantly in contact with the ground, painting is avoided as it would corrode quickly. - The entire top is hot dip galvanized, not just bare steel. - Utilizes a rubber billet instead of a block of plywood. Previously, plywood with phenolic resin glue was used, but the rubber billet is considered superior. - The wingnut collar has been increased from 1″ to 1.5″ in length, increasing the mating surface contact area between the collar and the square acme threaded rod, which increases load capacity.
