Overview
The Raceboardblade ULW V8 is a super light and medium-wind raceboard sail developed from direct competitive feedback and refined with the Loftsails Raceboard Team. The design delivers earlier drive in light airs, reduced swing-weight through transitions, and consistent responsiveness across race conditions.

Earlier Power in Marginal Winds
The ULW V8 features a deeper overall profile and a fuller upper section to generate drive when winds are light. A softer upper batten and an exposed tack eyelet enable on-the-fly downhaul adjustment for marginal conditions.

Light Through Transitions
A higher aspect ratio (longer luff, shorter boom) lowers swing weight and keeps the rig balanced during tacks and gybes, improving pumping efficiency. Four TekCam 3s (35% lighter than the previous generation) stabilise the upper profile and shift it forward without adding rig mass.

Carbon ULW V8 — Stretch Resistance for the Upper Wind Range
The 9.5 m² Carbon ULW V8 uses 2 mil carbon X-Ply in place of standard quad-axial panels. Carbon threads along warp lines reduce stretch so the profile holds its design shape better as wind builds — an advantage in middle and upper wind ranges.

Trim Reactive Across the Wind Range
The ULW V8 responds predictably to downhaul and outhaul adjustments, allowing sailors to manage profile through heats. Side-alternating X-Ply batten pockets with triple scrim adhesive maintain rotation neutrality and consistent behaviour on both tacks.
