... Bow Shackle with Nut and Split Pin - Stainless Steel A4 is a high-quality fitting designed for various applications requiring secure fastening and durability. Made from Stainless Steel A4, it offers excellent resistance ...
The bow shackle is a metal fitting closed by a removable pin and used to link two lines or other elements.
ApplicationsShackles are used aboard ship to link two chains, secure a line, attach an anchor to its chain, secure shrouds and stays, attach a crane to its cable or for similar purposes.
TechnologiesThe bow shackle consists of a metal yoke and a threaded bolt or pin. When in place, the bolt should fit the yoke snugly so that repeated movement does not loosen it. Bow shackles differ depending on use, such as for slings or for fishing, the latter with a squared head and flat eye. They also differ in design and materials. There are high load, safety, stainless steel, galvanized and other types.
How to chooseChoice will depend on intended use. Shackle size must be appropriate for the elements to be joined. Its constituent material and maximum load are also factors. Shackles exposed to the elements should be of stainless steel.
