How to choose this product

A boat water heater warms, stores and redistributes fresh water to the vessel's system. Those offered on NauticExpo are intended for use on leisure craft.
Applications
These devices are a prime source of comfort aboard cruising vessels and yachts equipped with washing facilities, mixing taps and a hot water system.
Technologies
The heater has an insulated storage tank. Many are able to heat via both internal electrical resistance elements and a heat exchange system carrying hot engine coolant through pipes around the storage tank, transferring heat to the water. Safety is ensured by a pressure relief valve and, at times, a pressure gauge.
If the engine has not run enough to heat the water, the heating elements must be engaged. Generally running on AC power, they require a generator for use at sea, but may be plugged into a shore outlet when in port.
How to choose
Choice will depend primarily on tank capacity. Number of hot water taps, size of crew and frequency of hot water use will determine minimal tank size. The greater the tank capacity, the more space required for its installation.
