The A2 AP/Runner maximum-sized sail is designed as a pure runner for use in wind speeds 9-16 knots. This is the sail for bow-down mode.
In keeping with the high performance aspects of the boat, a careful balance between luff and leech areas allows for soaking deep in 10-16 knots, but still allows for a bow-up mode in 16+ knot planing conditions. Lots of entry allows for generous sheet eases and wide steering groove without collapsing. Optimized for apparent wind angles from 135-150, the Airx 650 sail is strong enough to be used in any
condition.
STANDARD FEATURES: Grand Prix Duffle, single patch take-down line system, inked sail numbers. Price also includes class royalty.
C&C 30 ONE DESIGN
It is incredibly exciting to be involved with hot, new one design introductions. The challenge of figuring out what makes a boat tick, learning how it should be set up and sailed, determining the sail design and rig tuning formulas all make for an enormously satisfying project. It is a process that is in the very DNA of Quantum Sails. Since our formation, Quantum has been at the forefront of sail development in every major offshore one design class, including the C&C 30.
Development started in the summer of 2014 with the first set of test sails built for Hull #1. We are now on version 4.0 of most sails. There have been five one design regattas sailed beginning with a nine-boat fleet at the NYYC Annual regatta in June 2015. Needless to say their was plenty of tension during the first lineups.
