The D-ring can open up for attaching lines / blocks then folded down flush to avoid foot injury and reduce the chance of lines snagging. The use of silicone pad under the eye creates a soft friction creating a cushion effect that prevents the D-ring from rattling.
The surface of the pad eye has been treated by passivity (removal of surface iron and iron compounds by dissolution) to ensure a long, corrosion free life, proved by salt spray testing.

The Rutgerson padeye is made in high quality stainless steel. They are great for mounting blocks on deck or as attachement points for staysails, reefing blocks etc. Our padeyes are produced in three different sizes for maximum use. They adjust themselves to the angle of the load and when they are without load, they fold down in order to minimize the risk of hurting the crew and equipment.
Rutgerson padeyes correspond to the declaration of confirmative of "Man overboard prevention" SS-EN ISO 15085:2003.

The standard dimensional format shackle providing high load capacity and compact size. Smaller size bodies are produced from formed stainless steel sheet, whilst larger size bodies are from turned bar, coined at the ends. Pin heads are available in compact 'slotted' or 'coined' for finger or tool adjustment and some pin heads are drilled for the fitting of a securing wire.

Forged
The stainless steel shackles we use on Harken® blocks are available separately. We have increased the range in both configurations and sizes.
Stamped Shackles
The 072, 138, and 246 shackles are used on most of the Small Boat blocks. They are also useful for a wide range of other applications.
Snap Shackles
The 111, 112, and 1584 snap shackles fit a wide variety of blocks and make them removable. Many use a snap shackle on the lower vang block so that it can be moved from the mastbase to the toerail to use it as a preventer.
U-Adaptor
The 093 U-adaptor allows blocks with 3/8 in (10 mm) posts to be attached to swivel bases or to other blocks with 3/8 in (10 mm) posts.
The 1598 U-adaptor allows blocks with 9/16 in (14 mm) posts to be attached to swivel bases or to other blocks with 9/16 in (14 mm) posts.
The 463 U-Adaptor adapts 75 mm Carbo singles to swivel bases.
