About Us

IF YOU'D LIKE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE EVOLUTION OF THE SPRINTEAU …

In 2003, Christian VALETTE and François NYCZAK developed a human-powered boat they named SPRINTEAU. That same year, using this “Evolution 1” prototype, the two friends traveled from Toulouse to Bordeaux via the Canal du Midi; then, in December 2004, they traveled down the Garonne River as part of the Telethon.

After developing a gabarot powered by a turbine and driven by an engine running on sunflower oil, Christian and François built a new SPRINTEAU Evolution 2—shorter but more efficient in terms of speed and maneuverability. With this latest boat, Christian and François have made numerous trips down the Garonne River in all seasons, always in support of the Telethon.

In 2017 and 2018, the two friends participated in the 6 Days of the Garonne between Toulouse and Bordeaux. After this wonderful adventure at the 6 Days of the Garonne, Christian VALETTE decided to build a new prototype—this time not handmade, but manufactured industrially. Thus was born the Evolution 3, which was unveiled to the public during the 2019 edition of the 6 Days of the Garonne.

You’ll be able to enjoy the boat’s speed, the comfortable seating position, and the health benefits of regular exercise—all without any vibration whatsoever.
