Hilton Roberts started safe2dock in 2020 after purchasing a Bayliner 3288 twin diesel (1994) in April 2019. The vessel was docked on a berth up a tidal river. Researched dockside fenders, found only options to be foam fenders, not great! 3am one morning a ureka moment - inflatable fenders...a few prototypes and trial and errors over 6 months. Prototype 3 as illustrated in the literature was over engineered. Now fenders exclude longitudial rubbing strip in the heavy duty black PVC, rather a extra layer of fabric is utilized.
