Overview The four-stateroom, five-head Viking 70 Sky Bridge is a next-generation yacht combining tournament-winning performance, craftsmanship and fishability. The 70 SB blends open-air visibility and command from a sky bridge with the comfort and protection of an enclosed bridge below. Design and engineering refinements deliver a clean, efficient hull, improved ride quality and spacious interior accommodations. The cockpit has been lengthened for greater working room and was engineered into the hull and machinery layout to maintain balanced running attitude and sightlines. The interior is finished in horizontal-grain walnut produced in Viking's in-house woodworking facility known as the Mill.
Key design and interior features - Sky Bridge: fully equipped upper helm station with seating and open-air visibility for running and maneuvering.
- Enclosed Bridge below: one-piece windshield, flush-mounted displays and a protected, climate-controlled second salon accessible via interior staircase.
- Salon: port L-shaped settee with walnut table, raised dinette to starboard with rod storage below, galley configurable as peninsula or island.
- Accommodations: four staterooms and five heads plus aft crew stateroom with private access to the engineroom for extended trips and tournament use.
- Cockpit: lengthened for additional working room and optimized for tournament fishing operations.
Performance, propulsion & engineering The 70 offers two primary propulsion options: MAN V12X 2200 (2200 MHP) and MTU 12V2000 M96Z (2222 MHP). The hydrodynamic running gear includes flow-aligned rudders and struts, propeller pockets and electronic power steering as part of Viking's Advanced Propulsion System. The design targeted optimized performance while maintaining comfortable, spacious living accommodations.
Engineroom systems & equipment - Spot Zero Double Pass watermaker and purification system.
- ElectroSea raw-water treatment system.
- Viking engineroom ventilation and fire suppression systems; engineroom finished in Snow White Awlgrip for improved visibility.
- Engine room and machinery arranged for accessibility and ease of maintenance; engineered to accept Palm Beach Towers tuna tower, outriggers and omni sonar integration.
Construction & design intent The 70 continues Viking's lineage of tournament-capable yachts and benefits from lessons learned on larger convertibles (90, 82, 74). Subtle hull adjustments (deadrise, chine placement, strake geometry) and a slightly narrower beam versus the Gen II 68 improve ride quality and efficiency. The 70 was developed by Viking's Design, Engineering, R&D and Production teams with input from experienced anglers and leaders to refine both fishability and onboard comfort.
Gallery & layout The model is presented with an onboard gallery, multiple large-format images and detailed layout plans showing accommodation and bridge arrangements. Available layout plans include bridge/accommodation and salon configurations and multiple plan variants showing galley peninsula or island options.
