Overview A three-stateroom sportfishing yacht built for tournament-capable fishing and comfortable cruising. The Viking 50 Convertible (50 C) combines a resin-infused structural approach with sportfishing arrangements and full onboard systems suited for extended trips and serious anglers.

Design and Construction Design cues align with Viking flagships: flush foredeck for safety, modified upper chine and aggressive strakes for a dry, stable ride, and recessed salon windows with radiused perimeters. Hull, tankage and structural bulkheads are resin-infused to optimize strength-to-weight ratio. Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) and carbon-fiber reinforcements are used in high-load areas to increase stiffness and durability.

Flybridge and Cockpit The flybridge features a walk-around center console with a recessed black-acrylic dash housing twin 22-inch multifunction displays. Forward lounge with integrated armrests and storage, port and starboard bench seating, and a refrigerated drink box to starboard of the helm provide a functional command area. The 131-square-foot cockpit is configured for serious sportfishing with refrigerated in-deck fishboxes, transom livewell/fishbox, Seakeeper-ready lazarette, flush-mounted rod holders, mezzanine seating with tackle and cooler storage, and a freezer under the lounge. Additional practical items include a transom door with lift gate, recessed cleats with corner hawsepipes and ample toe-kick space for fighting fish.

Accommodations Bright, open-concept salon finished in horizontal-grain walnut (available high-gloss or satin). An L-shaped lounge to port surrounds a walnut cocktail table; a raised dinette provides panoramic views and rod storage. Standard entertainment includes a 43-inch HD TV. The galley features a peninsula countertop, standard icemaker, stainless sink, four-burner Miele cooktop, microwave/convection oven, and undercounter refrigerator and freezer drawers. Below deck the 50 offers three staterooms and two full heads: a master with queen walkaround berth and private ensuite, a forward guest stateroom configurable as queen or crossover layout, and a starboard guest stateroom with upper/lower bunks.

Performance and Engineering Engineering highlights include resin-infused stringers with aluminum reinforcements, careful component installations, composite seacocks, and accessible system routing. A 21.5 kW generator supports vessel systems, with dedicated pumps for seawater-fed applications (air conditioning, livewells, Seakeeper, etc.). The hull form benefits from CFD refinement to deliver a soft, dry ride in challenging conditions.

Power Options & Equipment Typical power choices include MAN V8 diesel engines (standard and upgrade options referenced) with Scania options shown for some configurations. Electronic power steering (Optimus) and advanced helm electronics support precise maneuvering and tournament operation.
