A dynamically-positioned, 48,000 DWT heavy lift transport and installation vessel for the offshore wind industry. The design combines the benefits of a semi-submersible transport vessel with a large, 3,000 mt lifting capacity main crane. Can perform heavy lift crane operations with the main deck submerged.

The new build was originally ordered by OHT (Offshore Heavy Transport) and later acquired by Seaway7. The vessel was constructed at the CMHI Haimen shipyard (Yno CMHI-207). After delivery, the vessel headed to Europe for the completion and commissioning of remaining mission equipment.
The vessel's capabilities match future offshore wind industry requirements. The 216.3-metre vessel has a 10,000+ m² "smart deck" that can carry up to 14 giant monopiles per trip and is fully submersible to a depth of 14.66 metres. The Seaway Alfa Lift can install all types of bottom-fixed offshore wind foundations, transport topsides and subsea modules, and transport other heavy cargoes within oil and gas.
Her first assignment was to transport monopile foundations and transition pieces to the Dogger Bank's North Sea site, over 130km off the north-east coast of England, and install them in water depths up to 35 metres using her 3,000-tonne crane, state-of-the-art mission equipment, and smart deck handling system.
The offshore wind industry is moving towards larger turbines and deeper waters, increasing the need for higher carrying capacities, comfortable accommodation, vessel flexibility, and operational safety.
