Description

Overview
The Roamer is engineered for expedition and long-distance touring, blending All Star race-derived glide and tracking with the stability, load capacity and seaworthiness required for real exploration. Developed with expedition paddler Bruce Kirkby, the design prioritises efficient long-distance glide while providing a stable, load-capable platform for coastal and open-water passages.

Key features
  • All Star shape lineage: race-inspired hydrodynamics deliver efficient glide, strong tracking and consistent speed even when heavily loaded.
  • Low nose rocker: extends the waterline for a smoother, faster glide optimised for flat-water cruising.
  • High side rails: tall rails provide strong secondary stability for chop, currents and rough conditions when loaded.
  • Multiple bungee system: front and rear bungee tie-downs create flexible cargo zones for secure transport of camping equipment, dry bags or safety gear.
  • Large flat cargo zone: recessed flat area in front of the standing position keeps heavy loads low and centred, improving stability while paddling with weight.
  • Drainage system: twin scupper drains combined with a central concave channel rapidly clear water from the deck, reducing water weight and maintaining paddling efficiency.
  • Thick nose volume: increased nose volume helps the board ride over chop and swell, reducing nose-diving and fatigue on long passages.
  • Boxy rails with chamfered edge: reduce roll and limit water ingress on the deck; chamfered edge increases speed and stability.
  • Recessed standing area: lowers the rider’s centre of gravity for improved balance and control with expedition loads.
  • Flat tail and side planes: create a cleaner release, reduce tail wake and increase glide efficiency and control.
  • Nose deflector: directs spray away from the standing area to keep gear drier and improve comfort in windy or choppy conditions.
  • Rounded tail: smooth release on flat water and controlled transitions in downwind or following seas.

Construction & Technology
  • XTEC Carbon D2: core performance construction optimised for touring and expedition paddling — balances lightweight efficiency with the strength required for heavy loads and coastal use.
  • Carbon Load Frame Technology: strategic carbon reinforcements for structural strength and reliability, reinforcing standing area, rails, nose and tail for expedition toughness.
  • D2 internal optimisation: reduces overall weight while maintaining a strong, impact-resistant outer shell and reinforced zones for beach and coastal durability.

Design intent & use
  • Primary use: expedition, touring and long-distance paddling with capacity to carry heavy loads while retaining efficient glide.
  • Deck layout: wide standing area, recessed cargo zones and 12 lash points for organised high-capacity cargo management.
  • Seaworthiness: combination of thick nose volume, high rails and wave deflector for confident handling in chop, swell and rough conditions.

Sizes & capacity
  • Available size shown on page: 14'0" x 28.5" — 324 L
  • Designed maximum combined rider + gear load: up to 130 kg without compromising glide or balance.

Included items & accessories
  • Product is presented with construction option XTEC Carbon D2 (default on page).
  • Deck features multiple bungee tie-downs, integrated handles and 12 lash points for expedition use.

Notes from the designers
  • Design emphasises stability for long days in variable conditions while preserving All Star glide and tracking characteristics.
  • Recessed standing area, high rails and increased nose volume work together to deliver stability and confidence under load.
