How to choose this product

A windsurf board with a sail swiveling through 360° offers the possibility of great excitement to its rider, who must maneuver to maintain equilibrium. Constant technical developments since the 1960s have resulted in a wide range of boards for a variety of water sports.
Applications
Each board type is suited to a different use: freeride, freestyle, wave riding, slalom, racing, speed, recreation.
Technologies
Most boards are made of composite materials or plastic, the latter for entry-level equipment.
How to choose
Board type should be chosen as a function of intended use.
- Recreational boards are long and wide for maximum stability and easy mastery for beginners.
- Wave boards are short and low-volume, with foot straps to keep the rider in place when executing jumps and other maneuvers. This high-performance gear requires mastery of beach and water starts, as well as the ability to handle strong winds, even when not riding waves.
There are also intermediate types:
- Freeride boards are multipurpose, suitable for waves, slalom, freestyle or a combination.
- Freestyle boards offer maneuverability, good starting and planing qualities.
- Slalom boards favor starts and planing, high-speed stability and overall performance.
- Racing models offer similar qualities to slalom boards, with even more emphasis on performance.
In addition, there are boards specifically designed for pure speed.
