OverviewSince Poralu Marine (a Wearth Group subsidiary) was founded more than 40 years ago, the company has based its docks on aluminum, an infinitely recyclable material. In 2026 Wearth Group launched a new floating dock offering with a low-carbon finishing named Harmony, which halves the carbon footprint of an aluminum dock while maintaining the same technical performance and visual appearance.
Design and materialsThe Harmony finishing is the result of an in-depth focus on recycled and bio-based materials and manufacturing adaptations. Key material choices and innovations introduced for the low-carbon finishing include:
- Use of recycled aluminum (up to 75%)
- Floats manufactured from recycled polyethylene (50%)
- Use of recycled polystyrene (80%)
- Deck developed using recycled and bio-based materials, including rice husks
Product positioning and optionsPoralu Marine continues its high-end positioning and offers customers three finish options:
- Nautic — standard level
- Harmony — low-carbon offering (the new finishing)
- Premium — low-carbon construction combined with a high-end aesthetic signature
Performance and manufacturingDespite the use of recycled materials, Poralu Marine reports that the new low-carbon docks deliver exactly the same industrial and user performance as traditional docks; visually and in terms of use there are no differences. Implementing Harmony required several years to adapt manufacturing processes, secure supply chains, and coordinate suppliers to develop alternative solutions. The new finishing is produced in the group’s plants in Port, France.
Environmental impactThe group’s carbon footprint study (2021) showed a large share of impact from aluminum sourcing. By introducing the Harmony finishing and increasing recycled material content, Wearth Group aims to significantly reduce its environmental impact and act as a market pioneer offering a lower-impact alternative.
Suggested use casesHarmony finishing can be applied across the group’s docks and floating infrastructure activities worldwide, enabling communities, developers and investors to adopt lower-impact harbor and marina solutions.
