Description

This in-boom furling mainsail is made from a solid woven polyester cloth, often with 2-ply in the leech or the woven dyneema (Hydra net) keeping the nice white look for years and years to come. The cross-cut sail design is a widely used design that is a very price conscious choice. The horizontal full battens help keep the shape, and make sure the furling in to the boom runs without problems. The lowest battens are also working as reefing point as they stretch out the reefed down mainsail. Material The woven polyester used for our SOLANO segment comes in different qualities with high tenacity fibers that resist long term loads. Ranging from an all-round Dacron cloth to high-quality cloth with improved stretch resistance. Woven Dyneema is a strong sail cloth, tightly woven as a high tenacity fabric. The woven dyneema cloths are polyester fibers with a grid of dyneema. The polyester laminate used in our SOLANO segment is a high-end cruising laminates characterized by low stretch. Very durable sailcloth. Taffeta is available in light and heavy and in grey and white. The Carbon / Technora fiber combination is an optimal solution in terms of shape and performance. Taffeta is available in light and heavy and in grey and white. The Vectran/Technora fiber combination is the most popular fiber combination for the cruising sailor both high performing and durable. Taffeta is available in light and heavy and in grey and white. The Technora fiber is a high-performance fiber with high tenacity and low elongation, improving the shape.
