ELME Spreader Model 508R is a rotating end-lift spreader for handling of empty ISO containers. The 508R is designed to be integrated on the carriage in the mast of a lift truck and can handle one empty 20ft ISO container from the short side. It meets end-lift requirements according to ISO container standards.

Design and function
The spreader is designed for 8ft wide containers with centre-to-centre 2 258 mm between the two twistlocks. The top hooks are hydraulically adjustable to handle various container heights. The container is lifted and secured by two horizontal twistlocks at the bottom and two top corner hooks. The rotating function facilitates container repair and precise positioning.

TWISTLOCK SYSTEM
The twistlock system is manufactured in a heavy-duty design with long-proven reliability. Model 508R features hardened ISO quick-exchange twistlocks, hydraulically activated with mechanical interlocking to prevent incorrect locking or unlocking.

CONTROL AND PROTECTION SYSTEM
Electrical systems continuously monitor the spreader status. Indicator lights inform the operator when the spreader is correctly seated and locked. Each signal is a prerequisite for critical protection functions such as twistlock activation and lift interrupt.
