On the TYPE/12, the upper north marking of the rose is above the lower south marking (south below north). The graduated ring and the centre piece on the upper cover glass enable bearings to be taken using a direction finder (available as an extra). The rose diameter of the TYPE/12 is 180mm (7 ½").
